Donor egg program

The donor egg program is the treatment indicated in the patients that, for different reasons they do not have eggs capable of giving place to an evolutionary and healthy embryo. It consist of doing an In Vitro Fertilization with the eggs of a donor and the sperm of the male, transferring the embryos to the recipient woman.

The egg donor is totally anonymous, but the couple can kwon some different characteristics of the donor, like blood type, height, colour of eyes, hair colour … The egg donor usually is between 20 and 28 years old, and most of them are students.

The patient receives an hormonal substitution treatment with oestrogens and progesterone that prepares the uterus for the receipt of the embryos while the woman waits for the donation. The same day in which the eggs are recovered we do the fertilization, and two or three days later, we transfer the embryos to the patient. In IREMA all the embryo transfer are non-frozen embryo transfers, which needs a great coordination and synchronization but offers also better results.

To the donors the necessary studies are realized to get a few healthy eggs. Diagnostic tests are made and we register their physical and blood characteristics, in order that they are so seemed like possible.
