c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire d&rsquo;obtenir un plus grand nombre d&rsquo;ovules que lors d&rsquo;un cycle menstruel normal, afin d&rsquo;obtenir un nombre ad\u00e9quat d&#8217;embryons, augmentant ainsi la possibilit\u00e9 de gestation. Au cours de ce processus, qui dure normalement entre une semaine et dix jours, des hormones sont administr\u00e9es pour permettre la croissance d&rsquo;un plus grand nombre d&rsquo;ovules. Elle est administr\u00e9e 36 heures avant le pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement des ovocytes. Ce pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement est effectu\u00e9 au bloc op\u00e9ratoire, sous s\u00e9dation, \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;une aiguille sp\u00e9ciale qui recueille par le vagin le liquide contenu dans les follicules, lesquels contiennent \u00e0 leur tour les ovules. C&rsquo;est au laboratoire qu&rsquo;ils seront s\u00e9par\u00e9s de ce liquide et plac\u00e9s dans un milieu de culture dans un incubateur. Plusieurs microgouttes sont pr\u00e9par\u00e9es dans une plaque de culture, dans laquelle nous pla\u00e7ons une concentration ad\u00e9quate de spermatozo\u00efdes. Ensuite, nous pla\u00e7ons un ovule dans chacune de ces microgouttes, et de cette fa\u00e7on, en quelques heures, un des spermatozo\u00efdes p\u00e9n\u00e9trera dans l&rsquo;ovule, ce qui produira une f\u00e9condation (c&rsquo;est la <strong>f\u00e9condation in vitro<\/strong>).
