Bij deze methode doneert de ene vrouw haar eicellen, terwijl de andere vrouw de zwangerschap draagt. Zo zijn beiden actief betrokken bij het moederschap en biologisch verbonden met de Hierbij wordt het genetisch materiaal van de ene partner gebruikt: haar eicellen worden bevrucht met sperma van een anonieme donor in het laboratorium. Vervolgens worden de embryo\u2019s in de baarmoeder van de andere partner geplaatst, die de zwangerschap uit zal dragen.
